FEMA OKs another $12.9M for Helene recovery

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — FEMA has approved an additional $12.9 million in reimbursement funds for 45 recovery projects tied to Tropical Storm Helene in North Carolina.

The latest allocation brings the state’s total recovery reimbursements to more than $161 million in the past two months, officials said Wednesday.

Notable grants include $2.6 million to Buncombe County for emergency protective measures and facility repairs; $924,000 to the city of Hendersonville for emergency protective measures; $889,000 to Asheville-Buncombe Community Christian Ministry Inc. for repairs to damaged facilities and contents; and $829,000 to the town of Burnsville for temporary water intake systems…
