Memphis woman charged with abuse of vulnerable adult, TBI says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A Memphis woman has been charged after an investigation showed she had gotten into a fight with a person for whom she was working as a caregiver, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) said Thursday.

Special agents with the TBI’s Medicaid Fraud Division conducted the investigation into 47-year-old Shanda Michele Jackson after they received a referral from Adult Protective Services on September 3, the bureau said.

Investigators said Jackson was working as an in-home caregiver for a TennCare recipient when the two got into a “physical altercation.”…
