NORTH EAST — A man who pointed a handgun at a motorist on a road near North East during a purported road-rage incident in March received a five-year prison term Monday after accepting a plea deal, according to Cecil County District Court records.
Cecil County Circuit Court Administrative Judge Brenda A. Sexton imposed a mandatory five-year sentence on the defendant — Cedric L. James, 33 — for use of a firearm in the commission of a felony or a crime of violence and a suspended five-year sentence for second-degree assault, court records show.
Earlier in that courtroom hearing, James had entered Alford pleas to those two offenses as part of a plea agreement reached by Assistant State’s Attorney Jacob Basht and James’ Elkton-based lawyer, C.
