Lafayette High School shelter-in-place lifted, no threat found

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Students and staff at Lafayette High School had a bit of a scare this morning, as they were asked to shelter in place after a perceived threat to the school.

The shelter-in-place order was lifted late this morning, according to a message sent to parents. A sweep of the school found no threat, officials said. All students are now back in class.

School officials said a student reported a possible weapon on campus. Lafayette Police did respond immediately. School officials said, after reviewing video footage and locating the student in question, officers determined the individual had a voice recorder and not a weapon…
