Attempted pass leads to I-135 wreck, driver injured

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) —A crash on northbound I-135 sent one driver to the hospital Thursday evening after two cars collided and ended up in a ditch.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. just north of South Hydraulic in Wichita.

Troopers reported that a 2013 Kia Optima swerved around another car and clipped it, sending both vehicles off into the ditch. The Kia then hit a tree.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 50-year-old man from Wichita, was taken to a Wichita hospital with suspected serious injuries…
