Shreveport might have it the worst when it comes to massive eyesores, but one of Bossier City’s oldest vacant buildings might finally get a makeover. The former General Dynamics office has sat empty since 2023. The for-sale sign sitting outside hasn’t found any buyers until now. The Bossier City Council and the Bossier Council on Aging are looking to put $4M into revitalizing the building for a new senior center.
The 301 Bentoan Road Revitalization Plan
The Bossier City Council approved Mayor Tommy Chandler’s purchase of the eyesore at 301 Benton Road to give the BCOA a new home. The budget for the purchase has a maximum of $4 million. The BCOA will be using this renovated space to create new offices and a large space for a senior center. Bossier City itself is covering the purchase of the building and additionally putting $100,000 into renovations for the building.
