ALLENTOWN, Pa.- Like a painting that needs a few more brushstrokes, or a clay sculpture awaiting its second kiln firing, a major expansion at Allentown’s Baum School of Art is not quite ready for public view. But it’s getting closer.
“We are so thrilled, and the spaces look beautiful,” said Executive Director Shannon Fugate.
The project at the school at 510 Linden Street began in the spring. When construction crews wrap up their work, the building will have two new additions. The bigger of the two is a three-story space on the southeast side, which will include a new gallery area, a classroom dedicated to the school’s youngest artists, and a life drawing and painting studio with optimal lighting and space…
