Charlotte Asian food festival closes early due to ‘cooking operations’

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Panda Fest, the outdoor Asian food festival being held in Ballantyne this weekend, shut down two hours early Friday.

On the event’s opening day, the Charlotte Fire Marshal’s Office forced the closure at 7 p.m. Festival officials posted the following message on their social media accounts:

“Out of an abundance of caution, the Charlotte Fire Marshal required us to wrap up today’s festival at 7 p.m. due to outdoor cooking operation that needed adjustments to meet additional code requirements.

“The good news: We’ve worked with officials to resolve the matter, and the festival will reopen tomorrow.”…
