Richland County man sentenced after 110 mph chase ends with crash into deer

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — A Richland County man has been sentenced after leading deputies on a high-speed chase that ended when his car struck a deer.

According to the Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office, Eric Wright pled guilty to failure to stop for a blue light and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

On Sept. 9, Judge Daniel Coble sentenced Wright to the maximum of three years for failure to stop, along with a concurrent three-year sentence for the firearm charge…
