Jacksonville city leaders weigh plans tackling homelessness

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville city leaders and advocates are advancing new strategies to address homelessness, with a focus on young adults, mothers and children.

At a meeting Friday, the Youth Crisis Center stressed that housing is not simply about providing shelter but about setting people up for long-term success in helping them secure jobs, pursue education and build stability.
