Family of Coventry girl living with rare condition hosts walk to raise awareness

COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) — Heather Coutu’s pregnancy was normal by all accounts. It wasn’t until her daughter Brielle was born that doctors knew something was wrong.

That’s because Brielle had a port wine birthmark on her face, one of the tell-tale symptoms of a very rare neurological disorder called Sturge-Weber syndrome.
