It’s getting dark around here: Northern California losing daylight rapidly over next several weeks

CALIFORNIA, USA — While the weather from summer to fall will likely undergo many changes from hot conditions to cooler and wetter weather, one thing is very consistent. We are losing daylight every day in the morning and evening until we hit that first official day of winter, the winter solstice.

After the winter solstice which occurs on December 20-22 every year, we add daylight until the next Summer Solstice known as the “longest day of the year.”

The length of day and night is very predictable and can be calculated with high precision well into the future…
