SARASOTA — Following years of budget cuts, student enrollment drops and school vouchers, it seems the expansion of Florida’s “Schools of Hope” program school has become the final straw for Sarasota County Schools.
At Tuesday’s Sarasota County School Board workshop, district leaders sounded the alarm on a conversation of “urgency” that may involve the closure of a school and the redistricting for several others.
