Wisconsin man with ‘extensive’ criminal history arrested for alleged sixth OWI offense after police pursuit

MONONA, Wis. (WFRV) – A 36-year-old Wisconsin man with an ‘extensive’ criminal conviction history was arrested for an alleged sixth operating while intoxicated (OWI) offense after a police pursuit on Thursday night.

The Monona Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to a report of a person appearing to be unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle stopped in traffic along Highway 51 in Monona.

Officials conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle after it was still stopped in traffic at a green light, ordering the driver, identified as Tyler Miller of Madison, to exit the vehicle. Miller woke up, acknowledged the police officers and fled.

Miller reportedly headed southbound on the highway before turning around, continuing at highway speeds before exiting. A tire deflation device was successfully deployed, and a PIT maneuver brought the pursuit to an end after multiple attempted evasion tactics by Miller…
