LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with two Little Rock institutions said they are joining together to create a series to encourage and empower civic engagement.
Officials said the Clinton Presidential Library and St. Mark Baptist Church are set to launch “Get Fired Up: Awareness →Action.” The free six-week program will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays on Oct. 6 through Nov. 10 in the Ellis Banquet Hall at the church.

Course leaders said participants will learn through discussions, interactive activities and practical resources to turn civic awareness into action. The sessions will also highlight how faith and civic institutions can work side by side to strengthen communities, they said.
“Get Fired Up is more than a civics class; it’s a response to the moment we’re living in,” said Phillip L. Pointer, Sr., senior pastor of Saint Mark. “At a time when so many feel disconnected from the decisions that shape their lives, this program is dynamic, culturally rooted, and intentionally designed to awaken people of all ages to their power.”…
