A sheriff in Washington County Nebraska has become the target of a wave of death threats following a disturbing case of mistaken identity involving a high-profile shooting suspect with the same last name.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released a statement Friday morning addressing the threats, clarifying that Sheriff Mike Robinson has no connection whatsoever to the man arrested in relation to the shooting of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University earlier this week.
“We want to make it absolutely clear that this suspect has no relation whatsoever to Sheriff Mike Robinson or his family,” the statement read, which was posted via social media. “Any threats directed toward Sheriff Robinson or his family will be taken seriously, reported to the FBI, and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.”…
