On Tuesday, Shreveport Police were called to Pines Road to reports of a domestic disturbance.
The victim told Police that her boyfriend, Danthony Thompson threatened to kill her while they were riding in a car together. The woman, out of fear for her life, fled from the car and went to hide in a nearby gas station. The victim and witnesses told Police Thompson chased the woman inside the gas station while she was trying to hide from him. Thompson, once inside the gas station, continued to threaten to kill both the victim and himself, putting the woman in fear for her life.
When Police showed up to the location, Thompson continued acing erratically and attempted to hurt himself. Thompson also made threats toward Officers on the scene, saying he would attempt to hurt them. Thompson was placed under control by SPD and he was transported to a medical facility for evaluation, where he continued to make threats while spitting on Police and medical staff. He also claimed gang affiliation and threatened to shoot Officers.
After Thompson was medically cleared, he was transported to the Shreveport City Jail for booking. SPD found that Thompson has a lengthy criminal history including, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, multiple counts of simple battery, carnal knowledge of a juvenile, resisting an officer, and domestic abuse battery.
