SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is experiencing a widespread internet outage.
SFPD: Over 1,000 speed, racing citations issued for the year
The tribe’s reservation touches the north central part of the state.
According to a social media post from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, the outage is a result of a severed internet service line. Multiple departments are being affected in the area, including:
- Tribal Court
- CPS
- WIC
- Head Start Main Office
- Early Head Start
- ND Tribal Roads
- Land Management
- Food Distribution
- Transportation
- SORNA
These departments will have no internet, phone, or fax service until the line has been repaired, though offices will remain open to the public. The IT Department is working to restore service, and it’s unknown when the repairs will be complete, according to their post…
