Washington man had ‘no clue’ why he was being arrested for Portland crime he didn’t commit

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — July 1, 2025, was like any other Tuesday for Tacoma resident Edward Barry. He came home from work, greeted his wife and their 2-year-old son, and washed up for dinner. Then, he heard a knock on the door. Six U.S. Marshals were there to arrest him.

“I had no clue what this was for, to be quite honest,” Barry told KOIN 6 News. Eventually, one of the officers told him it had something to do with an incident in Portland involving a crowbar.
