VANCOUVER, Wash. (KATU) — The November ballot is just a few months away, and already Proposition 5 has people talking in Vancouver. Prop 5 is the Police Services Levy, a property tax levy that would help with the cost of hiring up to 13 full-time police officers at the Vancouver Police Department.
According to the department, Prop 5 would also go toward equipment and police cars for the new staff, administrative and staffing costs, as well as “prosecution and criminal justice costs.”
