Two Suspects Caught Following High-Speed Chase Through Mebane, Orange County, and Durham

Durham, NC – A multi-county police chase ended early Thursday morning at the Red Roof Inn on North Pointe Drive after two suspects allegedly involved in breaking and entering led officers on a dangerous pursuit through Mebane, Orange County, and Durham, authorities said.

Beginning of the Chase

The incident began shortly after 4 a.m., when Mebane police officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver van on Spring Forest Drive in Mebane. The occupants of the van were believed to be connected to recent breaking and entering incidents in the area.

When officers signaled the vehicle to stop, the driver fled at high speed, initiating a multi-county pursuit. Authorities reported that the chase traveled along several main roads in Orange County before entering Durham city limits.

Stop at the Red Roof Inn

The van eventually came to a halt in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn on North Pointe Drive in Durham. At that point, the driver fled on foot, while the other occupant remained in the vehicle.

Both suspects were later apprehended and taken into custody by responding officers. Law enforcement confirmed that no innocent bystanders were injured during the pursuit as reported.
