HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — Police stopped nearly 200 vehicles during a four-hour operation Friday morning on Interstate 69 north of Indianapolis.
Thirty Indiana State Police troopers, along with officers from local departments, took part in the “Late Is No Excuse” operation along a 51-mile stretch of the interstate, from Interstate 465 to north of Muncie.
State police say the operation, which took place from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., “targeted aggressive and dangerous driving behaviors that continue to pose a safety risk on Indiana highways.” Officers focused on speeding, failure to wear seatbelts, violating the state’s hands-free law and compliance by commercial motor vehicles…
