A Polk County courtroom heard the raw anger of a grieving family as Walter Bickham, 59, was sentenced to 50 years in prison for stabbing his girlfriend to death almost a year ago.
“Walter, what you did to her is unforgivable. … You’re a monster. You didn’t care,” said Suzette Gums’ sister Elizabeth Martinez.
Bickham kept a straight face through the sentencing Friday, Sept. 12, in Polk County District Court as Judge Joseph Seidlin called the killing “a senseless tragedy.”…
