Houston’s police Chief Noe Diaz’s first year in charge of Texas’ largest law enforcement agency has been anything but quiet. During his tenure, there has been a new police contract guaranteeing officers 36.5% in raises in coming years, the fallout of dropped cases scandal and overseeing a department in transition.
“He came in when we were in a time of a little turmoil and quickly took the reigns,” said Doug Griffith, president of the Houston Police Officers Union. “I think he’s done an exceptional job running the department.”
