LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 11)–A Patriot Day observance was held Thursday morning at the Veterans Memorial Garden in Antelope Park in central Lincoln, to honor those from Nebraska that served in the 9/11 aftermath.
On Sept. 11, 2001, there were four coordinated terrorist suicide attacks by al-Qaeda against the United States. Nineteen terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners, two of which were flown into the World Trade Center in New York City and the third into the Pentagon in Washington, DC. The fourth plane crashed in a rural Pennsylvania field.
