Man fighting for his life after being hit by train on east side of San Antonio

A man is in critical condition after police say he was hit by a train on the east side of San Antonio early Friday morning.

Police say he was walking on the tracks near East Commerce Street and Kraft Street just before 1:30 a.m. when he was hit.

Officers say the train conductor tried several times to warn the man on the tracks with the train whistle, but the 43-year-old victim couldn’t avoid being hit. The man stepped off the tracks, but not far enough from the tracks to prevent from being struck by the train…
