The Nelson Hawks held off a challenge in Newberg on Friday night for a 17-14 road win.
Malachi Garlington reached down below his knees to catch a short pass across the middle from Danny Leary, and he zipped inside the pylon from 14 yards out for a touchdown and a 17-7 Hawks lead in the third quarter.
