Birmingham law community remembers life, legacy of retired Judge Teresa Pulliam

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham Bar Foundation is remembering the life of long-time former Jefferson County Judge Teresa T. Pulliam.

Pulliam died earlier this week. She grew up in Huntsville, graduating from Birmingham Southern College in 1980. She went on to study at the University of Alabama School Law and began her career as a prosecutor in Mobile County.

By 1986, she returned to Jefferson County to serve in the district attorney’s office. She had a private law practice for more than a decade, before taking the circuit court bench in 2005. She served as a circuit judge for nearly 18 years before retiring in 2023. She previously served as president for the Birmingham Bar Foundation, as well as the mayor’s task force on crime in Birmingham…
