Madera students honor 9/11 survivors with 343 burpees

MADERA, Calif. (

) – Students at Madera South High School’s Public Safety Academy joined military branches and local law enforcement to honor the victims of September 11 with a test of endurance.

Led by instructor Rickie Hernandez, students partnered with the Navy, Marines, Army, National Guard, Madera Police, and juvenile probation officers for the 343 Burpee Challenge, a tribute to the 343 firefighters who died while responding to the 9/11 terrorist attacks…
