Springfield Memorial Stair Climb honors lives lost on September 11

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -Hundreds gathered at Hammons Field Saturday morning to honor the lives lost in the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Participants in the stair climb paid tribute to fallen firefighters on that day 24 years ago by walking the distance of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center.

This year’s event raised nearly $28,000. The proceeds support the surviving families and co-workers of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice…
