[1] Bernalillo County Sheriff calls for changes in helping homeless – Homelessness and the crime associated with it continue to be an ongoing issue in the metro area. BCSO Sheriff John Allen says his office is doing everything it can to help the homeless, but he is running out of patience. BCSO says deputies had nearly 800 interactions with the homeless since the start of the year and only 2% of those offered assistance actually accept it. Allen says he hopes during the next legislative session lawmakers will pass laws that encourage people struggling with addiction to seek treatment and hold those caught selling drugs accountable.

[2] Stormy and windier weather around New Mexico – Friday and Saturday will be the most active day of weather across New Mexico as a storm system moves into the state. Storms will develop in the western half of New Mexico by Friday afternoon. These storms will bring a threat of heavy rainfall and severe weather. Gusty winds, heavy rainfall, small hail, and frequent lightning are likely. A line of thunderstorms will stretch from southwest New Mexico to the northern mountains by Friday evening as this line will move into the Rio Grande Valley. Heavy rain will be likely, along with gusty winds. Heavy rainfall could lead to areas of flash flooding.

[4] Bernalillo County hosts open house on Coors Blvd. safety improvements – Bernalillo County is taking feedback from residents on their plans to improve a dangerous stretch of Coors Blvd. Thursday night, people shared stories of close calls, difficulty crossing the street and concerns about dark stretches with no sidewalks. The project is currently in design phase, plans include adding lighting, crosswalks and sidewalk connections…
