Resurfacing of US 24 Set to Begin Next Week in Colorado Springs: Expect Delays and Single Lane Traffic

Brace yourselves, Colorado Springs, because CDOT is set to give US 24 a facelift next week. A stretch of road just east of East Platte Avenue is on the ticket for a resurfacing job. The Colorado Department of Transportation maintenance crews will be working between Mile Point 311 and 312, as reported by the department’s recent press release. This part of the road, for those not fluent in mile point locations, falls between Powers Boulevard and Galley Road/Peterson Road in eastern Colorado Springs.

Plan for a bit of a squeeze on your commute. The work is scheduled from Monday, Sept. 15, to Thursday, Sept. 18, with working hours set from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDOT warns that there will be various lane and shoulder closures within the work zone.
