Firefighters continue their efforts to contain the Foley Ridge Fire as temperatures rise and fire behavior escalates.
Crews are focusing on strengthening containment lines, fire officials say crews are constructing a 150 to 200-foot shaded fuel break along Highway 242 and surrounding roads to keep the fire low-intensity and confined to the forest floor by removing ground and ladder fuels. A pilot car is leading traffic through from milepost 55 to 62. Drivers should expect extended delays or avoid travel in the area.
