Motorcycle Passenger Killed, Rider Injured in Tragic Collision in Orange County

An unfortunate series of events unfolded in Orange County when a vehicle maneuver intended to be just another turn on the road became a fatal collision. As reported by ClickOrlando, a motorcycle passenger lost her life while the rider was injured in a two-vehicle crash that took place yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 436 and Lake Pleasant Road. A 2024 Ford Maverick was attempting to make a U-turn when it entered the direct path of an oncoming motorcycle, a 2012 Harley Davidson Road King. The motorcycle, traveling in the inside lane towards the intersection, struck the back side of the pickup truck. This impact caused both the rider and his passenger to be thrown from their bike, according to The Apopka Voice.

Both the motorcyclist and the passenger were quickly attended to by emergency services. The motorcyclist, identified as a 25-year-old man from Columbia, South Carolina, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with injuries not deemed life-threatening. Tragically, the passenger, a 25-year-old woman from Apopka, did not survive and was pronounced dead upon arrival at AdventHealth Apopka.
