Nonprofit to host cultural learning event

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Midwest Street Medicine hopes to teach its volunteers and community more about Native American culture and identity.

“A lot of people that we work with are Native American,” Diane Eide with Midwest Street Medicine said. “We feel it’s important to be culturally sensitive and to have that knowledge and to know about some of the traditions.”

The nonprofit is made up of volunteers who provide medical care to people experiencing homelessness. An upcoming event Monday night is at the Union Gospel Mission and will feature guest speaker Tanya Grassel-Krietlow…
