Gwinnett County can now boast about their trophy case being a bit fuller thanks to its Communication Department’s recent success at the 2025 Savvy Awards, where they secured a plethora of honors for their excellence in public outreach. The awards, which celebrate the cream of the crop in local government communications, were presented by the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA).
It’s not every day a local government’s efforts in storytelling and community outreach earn such high recognition on a national stage, but Gwinnett County’s Communications Department has done just that. The Department took home top honors in several categories, standing out among large cities and counties all over the country. Judges tossed praise for their innovation and the impact their storytelling has made on the community.
Their haul included first-place ‘Savvy’ wins for both their Glass Recycling initiative under the ‘Go Green Communication Program Efforts’ category and the ‘Upfront Gwinnett: The Hidden Homeless’ segment in the ‘Interview/Talk Show/News Programming’ for 100,000+ population. Additionally, they snagged a ‘Silver Circle’ award for their Transit Referendum Social Media Campaign as the ‘Best Use of Social Media’ in the 650,000+ population class. Not stopping there, Gwinnett also earned an ‘Award of Excellence’ for their 2025 Adopted Budget Video and the Parks and Recreation 2024 NRPA Gold Medal Finalist Video in their respective categories.
