I would like clarification on the role of gate attendants and the guidelines they follow in managing traffic. From observation, the gates appear designed to slow vehicles and help protect golf carts when crossing or merging. If this is not their purpose, I would appreciate better understanding.
My concern is that if residents stop and use their gate cards, attendants often open the visitor gate and allow cars to pass through without stopping—sometimes leaving it open for a steady stream of traffic. This makes it difficult for residents to merge from the short lane and creates safety issues for golf carts waiting to cross.
I understand that some gatehouses are busy and keeping traffic moving is important. Still, if attendants are directed to raise gates and wave cars through without pause, perhaps this practice should be reconsidered. The result is less speed control, limited merging opportunities, and greater risk for golf carts and residents alike…
