Youngsville Man Killed in Fiery Collision on Louisiana Highway 338 in Vermilion Parish

Tragedy struck early in Vermilion Parish on September 12, 2025, as a head-on collision on Louisiana Highway 338 claimed the life of Charles Levine, a 56-year-old resident of Youngsville. According to Louisiana State Police Troop I, the accident occurred just after 6:00 a.m. near Bonvillian Road. Levine was driving a 2012 Ford F-150 westbound when, for reasons not yet clear, his vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with a 2019 GMC Sierra.

The impact was severe enough to cause the Ford F-150 to become fully engulfed in flames. While the occupant restraint use for Levine is not currently known, the severity of the incident sadly left him with fatal injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the other involved driver, who was confirmed to have been properly restrained, sustained serious injuries and was transported to receive medical treatment at a local hospital.

State police have begun a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led up to the fatal crash. As part of their standard protocol, troopers have collected routine toxicology samples from both drivers to determine whether impairment may have played a role in the collision.
