Bystanders Rescue Texas Deputy Dangling From Overpass

Thank goodness for those good samaritan bystanders, because the deputy in the video below could have been in a lot worse condition if they hadn’t stepped up to save him.

A couple of deputies from the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office were injured pretty badly after stopping to help a disabled vehicle on the side of Interstate 27. They noticed a vehicle with a flat tire and stopped to offer assistance.

Texas deputy saved after a semi crash leaves him hanging

After the tire was changed, a semi truck crashed into the deputy’s vehicle, sending one of them over the guardrail. His foot was pinned between the vehicles and the concrete, which left him dangling from the overpass. Onlookers rushed to his aid as the other officer was injured in the crash as well.

Apparently, someone happened to have a ladder with them, and they quickly got some folks beneath the deputy on the ladder while a bunch of other folks helped pull him up and dislodge his leg from where it was pinned. I love it when good people work together to solve a problem. They most likely saved this man’s life.
