LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – After a steamy start to the day, temperatures will warm fast, reaching 90 by lunchtime and the mid 90s during the afternoon hours. Sunshine will mix with clouds later on and an isolated shower or two will be possible during the afternoon. This evening, quiet weather returns as temperatures settle in the 70s.
In the tropics, we’re keeping a watch on a potential area of low pressure along the Southeast coast that could try and turn tropical before moving inland in North Carolina over the next day. Regardless of any development, it will bring squally weather to the Outer Banks. We’re also keeping a watch on a tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic that is looking much healthier today. It has a decent shot at becoming our next named system, but…..
