FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) – Dozens of doctors, cancer patients, survivors and families came together Saturday to celebrate three decades of care at FHN Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Since opening its doors in 1995, the center has treated more than 25,000 patients. For many, the consistency of its staff has been as important as the care itself.
“One of the true testaments of this center is that a lot of the staff that we have had here have not changed,” said Dr. Bobby Koneru, head of radiation oncology. “We have such an incredible team of nurses and therapists, and we work in such a cohesive way it’s almost like a family.”…
