ICAN names service dog after Fort Wayne’s Tom Henry

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Indiana Canine Assistant Network (ICAN) is honoring former Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry by naming a service dog in training after him. ICAN Henry, a four-month-old yellow Labrador retriever, is set to begin formal training at the Indiana Women’s Prison.

ICAN pairs service dogs with incarcerated individuals at three Indiana correctional facilities, supported by community volunteers. Last month, ICAN Henry met several members of Tom Henry’s family, including his siblings and nephew.
