Furnitureland South comes full circle with new store’s opening

HIGH POINT — The gallery-style merchandising strategy executed at Top 100 retailer Furnitureland South got its start long before it moved to its Jamestown, N.C., home.

In fact, those roots can be traced to the new Furniture Market Clearance Center at 2200 S. Main St. here, as it was the home of one of the earliest in-store Thomasville galleries in the 1980s. Furnitureland South held a grand opening for the new store, which will have its own online presence, on Sept. 12 and 13.
