An effusive press release on the latest Johnston public school test scores ran a verbose 1,335 words. A terse statement on response to a gun-packing student at Smithfield-Selma High School totaled 134.
And yet to parents of SSS students, we suspect the report on the gun incident mattered just as much, if not more than, news of the latest school test scores.
