City of Toledo makes plans for downtown international holiday market

TOLEDO, Ohio — The city of Toledo is moving forward with plans for an international holiday market downtown, according to city council documents.

The market, which appears to be similar to famous German Christmas markets that have been replicated in cities like Chicago, would be held in Levis Square Park on Nov. 21 and 22.

According to a city council agenda, it would coincide with the annual tree lighting in Promenade Park, and would emphasize international traditions, bringing together food, artisans and other traditions from around the world. The festival and its participating artisans, performers, businesses and organizations would highlight a diversity of international cultures that are represented in the Toledo area…
