Opelousas man charged with arson in connection with hospital fire

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — An Opelousas man has been arrested in connection with a fire at Opelousas General Hospital, authorities said.

Gerald Bihm Jr., 21, of Opelousas is charged with aggravated arson.

Opelousas Police responded just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday to Opelousas General Hospital South Campus regarding a fire reported in a bathroom attached to an emergency room. Hospital staff observed smoke and extinguished the fire before it could spread further, officials said…
