Birmingham Police make 44 arrests in crime reduction efforts

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Birmingham Police Department’s Special Enforcement Division made 44 arrests during the week of September 8-14, 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce crime and enhance public safety in the city.

The division made 31 felony arrests and 13 misdemeanor arrests. Officers also seized 21 firearms, including one stolen and one altered weapon, and conducted 90 traffic stops, resulting in 205 citations. Nine vehicles were impounded, including one stolen vehicle that was recovered.

Narcotics seized included 393.2 grams of cocaine, 158.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 256.16 grams of marijuana, and 175 grams of Xanax, among other substances…
