Jacksonville detectives have arrested 24-year-old Dontay Taylor on a murder charge after a shooting last month left his girlfriend’s father dead.
On August 7, District 6 officers responded to a shooting on Ahmad Drive near West 45th Street, where 50-year-old Derrick Griffin was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries on September 7.
Investigators determined that Taylor, who was in a relationship with Griffin’s daughter, shot Griffin during an altercation while Griffin attempted to break up a fight. Taylor was previously arrested on August 25 for Attempted Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon…
