KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Mayor Indya Kincannon held the latest community meeting about the potential sale of the about 13 acres of Chilhowee Park to Emerald Youth Foundation on Monday evening.
About 130 neighbors were in attendance, with both supporters of the idea and members of the opposition in attendance. The event was informal, with city employees staffing booths that detailed other development projects that have happened on the eastside over the past decade. Neighbors huddled around the booths along with Kincannon, who spoke with neighbors throughout the 90-minute meeting.
“I also heard loud and clear that people want Chilhowee Park to be something more than it is now,” Kincannon said. “That’s good to hear, and we’re looking forward to trying to find solutions to make out park better.”…
