MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – A lot of sunshine across the area today. We warmed a little more than expected today. Most of the area reached the low 80s. As we go in to tonight, more clouds will move into the area from the north. Cloudy conditions will develop overnight along the border belt and north into Central and Eastern North Carolina, as a low pressure system lingers off the Outer Banks. Lows in the Pee Dee and border belt will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. Around the Grand Strand lows will be in the lower 60s.
As we head into Tuesday, a tricky set up will be across our area. The coastal low lingering off the Outer Banks will bring into Northeast winds across central and eastern North Carolina. That will push into the border belt and possibly into the norther fringes of Marlboro, Dillon, and Horry Counties. This will supply cloudy conditions, possible shower or sprinkle and lower temperatures. The warmer air will be across the heart of the Pee Dee into much of Horry County. This will bring a little more in the way of sunshine and warmer temperatures.
As we head into the Mid to end of the week, high pressure to the west will migrate into our area. This will help set up a surge of warmer temperatures and some humidity for the area. Highs are expected to mid 80s along the coast. Locations inland into the Pee Dee and border belt could push 90 by the end of the week into the weekend. There doesn’t seem to be any rain chances over this week, so we remain dry. Drought conditions are sneaking back into the area, so we could use some rain…
